I HAVE THE WONDERFUL KERRIANNE COOMBES IN THE HOUSE TODAY!!!

That's right folks, Kerrianne Coombes is in my crib to answer a few probing questions and offer up an excerpt and sexy cover for her release, The One that Got Away, from Secret Cravings Publishing. So, let's get right to it. Kerrianne, are you ready?

CYN:  For any readers who may not have read any of your books, can you just give us a little sneak peak into the world you’ve created; i.e., the genre you write, type of stories you like to write, etc.?

KERRIANNE:  I write adult romances, from contemporary to fantasy paranormal. I write stories that make your heart race, with strong female characters—and men who have the potential to make you drool. ;-) I write sexiness.

CYN:  How much of yourself, if any, do you put into your characters?

KERRIANNE: I always start off thinking that I am apart from my characters, but the further into each story I go, the more I put of myself into them. I guess it’s like getting to know a new friend each time.

CYN:  How do you keep sex scenes fresh and exciting so they don't become stale or repetitive? (That is, if you write them.)

KERRIANNE:  I don’t know, I just let the characters take control. LOL Usually the characters are completely different—so naturally—the sex is too.

CYN:  Is there a story that you’d like to tell but you think the world isn’t ready to receive it?

KERRIANNE:  Yes, but it’s not the world that’s not ready—it’s me! LOL I have this great idea for a thriller, but I am scared that if I start writing it, I will think about the particular scary character in more depth—and then have nightmares for months! LOL I am a scaredy cat!

CYN:  What do you do on a typical writing day?

KERRIANNE:  Drop kids off at school, come home, make coffee and write until its time to get the kids… I get totally into it. Sometimes I have to set an alarm to go off, so I remember the kids LOL

CYN:  Do you prefer writing about perfect characters or flawed ones and why?

KERRIANNE:  FLAWED every time! They have so much more to say, think and do. Who is interested in perfect? Not me.

CYN:  When you have writer's block how do you break free?

KERRIANNE:  Walk with the dog, socialize, play with the kids. But if all else fails, I do the housework. LOL There is nothing else I hate more—it’s a motivation to un-block the block!

CYN:  From the moment you conceived the idea for the story, to the published book, how long did it take?

KERRIANNE:  Okay, The One That Got Away only took two weeks to write, then I tweaked and edited for a week—sent it to Secret Cravings In late December, it was accepted three days later…and now here it is. April 6th.

CYN:  When it comes to writing, are you an early bird, or a night owl?

KERRIANNE:  Night owl. I love the silent house feel, its perfect for my muse.

CYN:  Have you ever awakened in the night with the need to write? If so, how do you deal with this urge?

KERRIANNE:  YES—all the time! I write until my mind gives in. Last time I did this I got 7k done in one night. Very satisfying.
you could throw a party with any five people (living or dead) who would you pick and why? Pink—because I like her attitude. Channing Tatum—because I want to lick his abs. ;-) Adele—so she could sing at the party! LOVE her voice. Jack Black--to make me laugh AND Leonardo Dicaprio—for when I am done with Channing. ;-)

CYN:  What is the last line of your last WIP you worked on that you wrote?

KERRIANNE: This is from a WIP I finished just three days ago:
Sky giggled as she grappled with the buckle on her jeans “Yes I am, Jack. Yours, forever.”

CYN:  If you could be one of your characters - Who would you be? And why?

KERRIANNE:  I would be Cally from Beauty and the Beast—the Demon Tale Due out in May—because I just love Brigg (Her hero) Plus she is a princess. LOL

CYN:  What is one of your guilty pleasures to enjoy?

KERRIANNE:  Chocolate…too much *Glares at thighs*

CYN:  What are at least five things you have on your bucket list and have you done any of them?

KERRIANNE:  Skydive. Travel the United States. Learn to ride a motorbike. Learn to speak fluent French (In process now) And meet a real life vampire. ;-)

CYN:  Do you listen to music when writing? Do you feel like some stories write themselves a soundtrack with specific music? If so, what book and what kind of music influenced it?

KERRIANNE:  Nope, nothing I like total silence. I get distracted very easily! LOL

CYN:  Tell us five random things about yourself.

KERRIANNE:  I like to bake. I find tattoo’s really sexy. I like to laugh. I HATE celery EUGH! I have a terrible memory—plenty of people who know me would verify this. And I have read all of the Sherrilyn Kenyon Novels at least three times each! ;-)

Well, that was fun! So let's get to what everyone is waiting for, cover art and an excerpt.

BLURB

He left his town and his first love and vowed never to return.

Ten years later, regret and unfinished business force him to rescind his vow.

Camilia Jones, pub owner and bitter singleton is stuck in a rut. Constantly hurt by the popular misconception that she is miserable and surly, and not able to move past the attack that ruined her life and left her permanently
scarred. She is tired, broken and utterly alone. When William Adams, the man who stole her heart arrives back in the village, Cammy feels her old self come back to life.

 EXCERPT:

Cammy stood before him. She seemed to stop herself from taking a step back and Will didn’t know what to say. She swallowed hard and then bit her bottom lip. Will watched with fascination, his heart hammering with the understanding that Cammy was no longer looking angry, no longer refusing to meet his gaze. She was staring right up at him, with…heat…in her eyes.
“Cammy,” he breathed. He sounded stunned, blindsided to his own ears. He stepped back and allowed her into the room, and he was utterly amazed when she smiled and followed him in. She awkwardly looked around, her gaze falling upon the bed, and Will had to fight the need that suddenly pulsed through his veins.
Not yours anymore…
“Can I get you—anything?” He coughed awkwardly when he remembered he was in a hotel room, and of course had nothing to offer—except maybe a bottle of water.
She grinned and shook her head, and then as if catching herself she dropped her gaze.
“Uh, I just wanted to—uhm…”
Will stepped closer and lifted her chin with his finger. She gasped but didn’t pull back. Her hazel eyes locked onto his and Will felt a tremor of desire roll over his spine, down his back and straight to his cock. She was beautiful.
“Don’t apologize—not to me.” His thumb stroked over her jaw. He wanted so desperately to touch her mouth, to kiss her lips until they were breathless like they used to be. But he didn’t know what she would do, and now he had her calm and gentle he wanted to keep her that way. But he still allowed his thumb to stroke her cheek.
“But I want to.” She spoke quietly. Will could still hear the desire in her voice. It was like a fire in his groin, an animal inside him that roared to get out.
Lust was painful when held back.
“Don’t.”

Thank you for honoring me and dropping by today Kerrianne. Best of luck with this new story and everyone be sure to give her some love and leave a comment.
